Missy Cochran Oregon Photographer bio picture

This is Me

Hi there! I am Missy Cochran and I love photography, I fact, you could say that I am obsessive. It all started when I got married and had my wonderfully awesome grandpa take my pictures. He was a professional photographer and I thought all photographers were the same. After the wedding, I got the pictures back and they were all very traditional. Not grandpa’s fault, but mine for not knowing what I wanted. Anyway, I realized too late that I had actually wanted something different than what I got. Since my wedding is all over, I now get to live vicariously through my awesome couples. Other stuff about me is that I make a goal every three months to run regularly, but haven’t yet quite found my mojo. I think I like the idea of being a runner but maybe I am not really one at heart! I love sweets and I love my church and doing things that add joy to my life.

Baby Michael

Because of the swine flu, the hospitals are limiting the number of visitors to their maternity ward.  I got to be one of two people allowed to visit my sister when she had her baby because she wanted pictures.  Many of you know Melanie, she second shoots all my weddings with me and she got a chance to see what it feels like to be the subject of photography.  Here is her brand new baby, Michael, in the hospital and one of Kevin, her husband, who was the only other person allowed to visit.

Lexy R. Senior Pictures

I am so behind with blogging!  Here is my latest senior session and I promise to catch up one of these days!!

This was probably the most eventful session I have ever done because Lexy’s friend who drove, locked her keys in the car and we couldn’t finish the session without the other outfit changes!  The three of us trecked up the road to the nearest house in order to borrow a phone book and we called a locksmith.  We tried 411 on a cell phone, but lost the signal halfway through the conversation.  After using every random odd and end we found in my car to get into their car, we gave up and sat in my car trying to stay as warm as possible.  Le’ me tell ya!  These gals are hillarious!!  I can see why they are such great friends ;)

Linnea Senior Session at West Union Farm

I think that was the name of the location where we got permission to take pictures.  Anyway, I love the first two images because Linnea was nervous in such a cute way.  The blurry sunflower pictures is a funny story too.  We were walking in the sunflowers and I accidentally pushed the shutter button (new camera).  It startled me so much much that I screamed just a little and jumped about three feet high.    You can see the rest of the iamges here!

Patty and Dave’s Backyard Wedding

On August 8th, 2009 the friends and family of Patty and Dave gathered to Beaverton, Oregon for a backyard wedding.  Who would have thought that an Oregon backyard would have palm trees!  See the rest of this wedding here!
